What We Do

What We Do:

  • Currently running two Residential Schools at Shibrampur and Parui (near Behala Chowrasta) with the support of Sarva Shiksha Mission Kolkata
  • Running Pre School Education Programme in Kolkata.
  • Provide Education Sponsorship to the disadvantaged girls who are in needful of educational support.
  • Provide Mid-day meal to 1800 Children.
  • Running a project in Malda district of West Bengal on Mapping and Mainstreaming of Out of School Children.
  • Provide supplementary education to 80 adolescent underprivileged girls residing in Katrakhali, Sunderban to enrich their life skills thus improving their overall development.
  • Conduct various researches, studies and publish articles, books etc for creating awareness about the best practices of child education and child protection policies.
  • Provide safe drinking water mechanism & promote appropriate hygiene practices among the inmates of 5 different Government Homes
  • Conducted two studies on OOSC in different districts of West Bengal. The dropout rate of students of West Bengal is very high and to track that, these two studies were done and Special Training to these children were given.
  • Sensitize Government aided and private school teachers, parents, members of School Management Committees, Government officials and members of Civil Society Organizations on Right to Education Act 2009.
  • Provide remedial educational support to 7 schools of Kolkata covering 700 children per year funded by Government of West Bengal
  • Conduct training programme for the care givers of NGO runs homes on Positive parenting and non-violent discipline funded by Hope Foundation
  • Conduct Risk assessment of children and training of need assessment to staff members in Government managed Child care institutions.
  • Run study centre for open schools system for drop-out girls of class IX and X

Why we do it:

  • To provide children with better supplementary nutrition
  • To make aware all the teachers, parents as well as the students about the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009.
  • To increase the learning capacity of the students for their betterment.
  • As the children are coming from very vulnerable situations to those Government run Homes, the caregivers must be trained skill building in terms of child handling in creating a child friendly environment.
  • To empower adolescent girls through education and community mobilisation
