“Mapping and Mainstreaming of out of School Children”
Community Action Society is running a project titled “Mapping and Mainstreaming of out of School Children” in four blocks of Malda, West Bengal. Aim of the project is mapping of out of school children 6-18 years of age in 4 blocks and ensuring enrolment through motivation and mobilization with the help of CSOs/ SHGs/ PRIs/ Stakeholders. Out of School Children are defined here in five aspects: Never Enrolled; Long absenteeism (more than 20 days); Migrated; CWSN (Child with Special Need); Dropped out children.
The project is running in partnership with Malda Sahayogita Samiti & Sreejak, Society for Human Development in association with Sharva Shiksha Mission, Malda, supported by UNICEF. All the five types of children are being identified through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) by the Community Facilitators of their local Gram Panchayat. Moreover, these types of children are also identified on the basis of valid information of stakeholders. Identified children will be enrolled through mobilization / motivation.
A Web-Based software is being formulated Viz. “Khoj” for collection of real time data on out of school children. All the collected real time data will be uploaded in a user friendly & android mobile supported web-based software. The retention of the enrolled children can be tracked through “Khoj” (www.casoosc.org) – web-based software for out of school children.
